Last ditch Christmas event and Google search we stumbled across Union Electric Bar & Rooftop. WOW what a find! You can order food in and have delivered. Limited bar snacks are also available. No smoking on rooftop as it is a smaller space with barstools around bar, bench seats and tables. Union Electric was an exceptional find that I almost hate to write a review about because I would love to keep it to myself, but I just can't because if you love gin and rum and want a little quint essential place to go with good vibes you need to come here. Not only specialising in a wide arrange of gin and rums guaranteed to suit everyone's tastes, but there are also craft beers and wine available. It provides a cocktail list that is well worth the $$, with signature seasonal cocktails that are refreshing & light (except in alcohol 😉) and classics (who doesn't love a classic Pina Colada!) as well as Happy Hour between 5-7pm.That said, the staff. Where do I start? Amazing just doesn't even come close, from the first email sent to the last, the communication was quick and accommodating. Even established a last-minute bar tab to accommodate our needs. The staff weaved their magic, from the first drink ordered to the very last. Friendly, professional, quirky, funny, knowledgeable and kept the drinks flowing quickly and always with a smile. Truely exceptional customer service and beautiful, just beautiful friendly happy staff. For what was a stressful situation to find a venue for team Christmas function, it turned into a wonderful team event from the very first communication. We had confirmed 10 but at least 15 staff attended and despite this, so accommodating. Honestly, a great venue made even better by the staff. Do yourself a favour and go there at least once. I guarantee, once just won't be enough. side note: It is tucked away, so there is limited breeze on the roof top, but downstairs beautiful water sprays to keep cool, so when you want to go out for a smoke it is reall

Tucked away in a cozy laneway, Union Electric is such a gem in Melbourne! The rooftop bar has a super chill vibe with string lights, colorful tropical decor, and a casual open-air setup — perfect for warm nights and good conversations. We ordered a bottle of Jublé Prosecco to start, which was crisp, vibrant, and very easy to enjoy. Their tiki-style cocktails were fun, refreshing, and beautifully presented — love the attention to detail with the paper umbrellas and fresh garnishes! Service was friendly and laid-back, and the overall atmosphere made us feel right at home. Whether you’re after great cocktails, a lively rooftop setting, or just somewhere to hang with friends, this place is well worth a visit. Would definitely come back for the drinks and the vibes. 🍸✨

Love the atmosphere here, especially as the sun went down and the lights became more pronounced. Cocktails were all well-balanced, kinda fruity and all very pretty. Truffle toasted sandwiches were awesome!

We came here for drinks after our Christmas lunch. The service and atmosphere were great. It was an extremely hot day and we were seated upstairs, it would have been nice to have some sort of outdoor cooling system in place for a little bit of breeze. Overall experience was great. Thank you for hosting! Not sure how much we spend as the bill was paid by the company and I know we definitely had a reservation.

The drinks here are amazing and the bar staff are so friendly and welcoming. Feels very LGBTQ friendly without being explicitly a gay bar- and the drinks are definitely worth enjoying. Highly recommend the botánica and the vanilla one (forgot the name) both are quite dangerously easy to drink and refreshing. The roof top is so nice!!

Union Electric Bar & Rooftop – Melbourne (Chinatown area) A super cool bar with exposed brick walls and a rooftop garden decorated with fairy lights – perfect for chilling out with friends. 🍸 The cocktails here are amazing. My favorite was the Coconut Cocktail (the first white one I tried) – smooth, aromatic, and really refreshing. 🥂 The other three cocktails we ordered were also excellent, with a nice balance of sweet and sour flavors. Overall, a stylish spot with great vibes and fantastic drinks. Definitely a place I’d come back to!
